Youth and children
At Christ Church we seek to nurture our children and young people in the faith, so that they will grow up as part of God’s covenant family, to know Jesus Christ as saviour and Lord. We recognise that this is the primary responsibility of parents, but as a church we seek to do all we can to support them in this.
During morning and afternoon services, other than all age services, we run the following groups:
Crèche for pre-school children
Locos – Sunday school for Reception to school year 2
On Track – Sunday school for those in school years 3–6
Outside of the regular church services, we also run these groups (during term time only):
Tots & Co
Tots & Co. meet every Monday morning term time only from 10 – 11:30am.
We’re a small and friendly group, open to all children 0-4 with their parents/grandparents/carers. We enjoy playing, having a drink and biscuits, crafts, singing and sharing stories from the Bible.
All of this happens in one room so it’s easy for the grown-ups to relax knowing their children can always be seen. Your first visit is free, thereafter we suggest a voluntary contribution of 50p per family on subsequent visits. No need to book – just turn up.
Friday Night Runaways
Friday Night Runaways is a group for school years 4-6. We meet about once a month on a Friday at 5.30-6.45pm. We enjoy fun activities, games, making friends and learning from the Bible. Contact the church office for upcoming dates.
Mind The Gap
Mind the Gap is a youth group for anyone in school years 7–9.
We meet at 6:30pm most Thursdays during term time. Each week we’ll have loads of fun playing games, making friends, eating snacks and looking at what the Bible says. It’s completely free, and we’d love for you and your friends to come along. Once a year we enjoy 24 hours away together.
The Junction
The Junction is a youth group for anyone in school years 10–13.
We meet at 5:45pm, after the afternoon service, most Sundays during term time. Each week we’ll have the chance to study the Bible, have some snacks and play some games. It’s completely free, and we would love for you to come and join us.
Every year The Junction also has a Day Away on a Saturday, and a Weekend Away.
